Since the new house has been empty for so long, the yard has not been kept up, and so we'll soon have to tackle the jungle before it takes over the house (or the neighbors lose patience!)!
I know little to nothing about plants, yards, and the care of either, so I'm asking for help in identifying the growth in the yard as well as help figuring out how to take care of it. So, PLEASE let me know if you know what any of these things are:

I'm not sure with just the photos and not knowing what grows in your area, but I do have a solution. Take some cuttings that show branch, leaf and flower, if any to a garden store. Seeing how the leaves grow on a branch can narrow it down to a family of plants. Someone there will know, you might have to go to a few to get all the answers. If they are reluctant to help, tell them you cut them and want to plant them in your yard. If they see a sale, they are more than ready to help, in my experience.
